RAVNEDANS HISTORY

Ravnedans has been organised every year since it's launch in 2010 as the first contemporary dance festival in the South of Norway.

Since it began, the festival programme has flourished from the initial walking performance in Ravnedalen, to encompass activities hosted in Kristiansand city centre over a whole week.

The festival program is curated by the Ravnedans artistic board and starts with the yearly Open Call, together with invitations, recommendations and applications.

The festival appeals to a loyal local audience who have attended the festival since it started in 2010. We also have many visitors at the festival from the dance- and art community in Norway and abroad.

Since 2016 Ravnedans has received the Norwegian Arts Council Cultural Fund for Organisers. In 2021 the festival received funding for three years from Agder fylkeskommune.
